Girl Friday Baked Goods owner, Julia L Phelps, graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA with a degree in sculpture. She then went on to work for retailers and bakers, learning about the needs, equipment, and the art of baking and sculpting cakes.
In 2010 Julia moved home to Alabama after becoming tired of the loveless retail industry, and she decided to start her own baking and cake decorating business.
The name “Girl Friday Baked Goods” is based upon her grandmother Fran Phelps, a WWII Veteran, who embodied the renaissance woman with the skills of self-reliance, and her artistic talents.
Girl Friday Baked Goods is home-based bakery in Wilsonville, AL and legally operates under the Alabama Cottage Food Laws.
